statements
These are some statements i can up with to originally put on the images
- i was not taught percentages/ tax's/ gst's in school
- i was not taught anything about black history
- i was not taught anything about the genocide in Papua New Guinea
- i was not taught to be creative
- i was taught how to draw and paint but not how to use photoshop
- i think there isn't enough one-on-one time in school, and i believe its because there are too many students in classes
- i didn't learn anything about the nazi, till i watched Schindler's List

Steve and i had a talk about the previous image i made, and these points we agree on. 1. too much white space. 2. the language was good. 3. it was heading in the right direction. 4. they would look better in black and white So to solve the white space problem, i made the scanned images bigger, changed them to black and white.
So then i tried to see what kind of pen works better and were to place the writing. I like writing on the image but so much arrowing the people or objects out and writing who they are etc. so i decided that a little story that my family never talks about, a part of my family history may be better, so that it can also relate to the image.

Because i wasnt taught about black american history in school and i am very interested in it, i decided to take some old photos and put captions under then that will make the viewer think about black american history and whats happening in a america at the moment. Some of these captions were inspired by some images on instagram under the hashtag police brutality.

The kind of work i want to make .......
Erik Revelo
These works were interesting to me because they are powerfull political images that have messages and stories behind them
Shameless Maya from Instagram
These are a couple of the photos from her instagram that she took at a photoshoot with her cousin
These images are cool ! i really like the black background of the first two images. I works with flour in a project before but i didnt think about coloured flour or powder or it just being put on the body. Im thinking about doing an experiment like this
